Button Bauble

Hello, Laura here today.  Do you ever feel like making something really colourful?  I did, and this happened...

First of all I coloured a polystyrene ball with some promarkers.  I wasn't a perfect rainbow but that didn't matter as most of it would be covered.  The bits that peep through look nicer if the are roughly the right colour rather than white.  Then I got my entire button stash out and played around, picking the right colours and sizes and generally having fun.

When I had what I wanted laid out I started gluing them to the polystyrene with glue gel.  I stopped half way to let the glue dry.  This way I didn't have to worry about smudging and getting glue all over my fingers.  When the first half was dry I flipped it upside down and carried on.

To hang it I used a piece of swiss dot grosgrain and used both pins and glue gel to attach it.

All the buttons I used, along with the ribbon, are from Crafty Ribbons.

Thanks for stopping by!

A pouch for cars!

Last week-end, I found the perfect fabric to match with Summer festival ribbons!

Even colors are perfect together.

On back-side, I printed "cars"' with Versafine ink. You have just to fix with a flat iron without steam. A great pouch for cars to bring in holidays which will begin next monday in France.

Have a great day,  and good holidays if you have some!

Box Frame

Hi Everyone, Laura here today.

This white box frame has been hanging around in my 'to alter' pile for quite a while.  When I saw this meadow ribbon from the Summer Festival range I knew I wanted to extend it in to a picture...

I gathered a few buttons, my butterfly punch and a blue Inktense colouring pencil.

I cut a square of watercolour paper to fit the frame and very faintly drew some cloud lines and blended it out with a water brush.

I added the flower buttons as if they were growing from the ribbon.  I added one butterfly with dimensional glue and suspended the other on thread.

Quite simple, effective and very fun to make!
Thanks for looking,
Laura

Mug Hug

Hi, it's Laura here today.  Are you feeling a bit chilly?  Grab a hot chocolate in your favourite mug and wrap it up in a hug!

It's fairly easy to whip up a mug hug.  I've recycled the sleeve of an old denim/fleece sweater that had passed its best.  I've decorated with camper van ribbon from the Summer Festival range, spotty ric rac, and a couple of heart buttons.

I tried to use ribbon for the button loops but failed (twice) and switched to elastic.

Take a measurement around your favourite mug to get the rough size.  You don't need to be millimetre perfect as the elastic loops allow a little stretch.

Inspired by Ribbons with Leah

Hello everyone, I am here this week with some inspiration for you.  I have called this set of three cards 'inspired by ribbon' because this time, instead of picking the ribbon to match the card, I used the ribbon to inspire the cards!

For more details about these cards, and to find out exactly what ribbons I have used, please visit my blog here!  I know, I'm sneaky like that hahahaha.  I have so much fun playing with ribbons and creating, that I can never stop at just one of these cards, as you may have seen in the past, so I usually (always lol) make three of them!

Crafty Ribbons has so many beautiful ribbons...and just wait till you see their new releases coming up for Christmas this year!  DIVINE!

For more inspiration, check back often to see posts from all of our Design Team.  And don't forget to come and join our bi-weekly challenges on the challenge blog!  Aaaand one more thing........if you are looking for fabulous ribbon, lace and buttons, look no further!  You can find all of those things on the Crafty Ribbons Website!  See you soon!
